Your phone and PC, working together
Scan on your phone and send the result to your Windows PC. Scan on your PC and send it back to your phone. Panther Barcode Reader keeps both devices connected without requiring a cloud account for local sharing.
Same network, or Bluetooth
Same network
Fast local communication. When your Android phone and Windows PC are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, Panther Barcode Reader can establish a direct local connection between them.
- Fast
- No cloud required
- Local communication between your devices
- Keeps history and favorites in sync
Bluetooth
Connect without relying on the same network. Bluetooth provides an alternative connection method when a shared local network isn't available.
- Device-to-device communication
- Convenient fallback
- No cloud dependency
No cloud account is required for local device-to-device sharing. Panther Barcode Reader still uses the internet for some things — for example, opening a scanned web link or downloading an app update — but sharing a scan between your own paired devices happens over your local connection.
Only your devices, only when you allow it
- Discovering a nearby device is not the same as trusting it — nothing is shared until you pair.
- Pairing asks both devices to confirm a short verification code, so you know you're connecting to the right one.
- After pairing, communication between the two devices is encrypted.
- Only paired, trusted devices can exchange scans and history.
- You can remove a trusted device at any time to end the connection.
